Motif Express Shipper Terms and Conditions
- 01. Packaging and Documentation
Accurate Documentation: Shippers are responsible for providing an accurate and complete packing list for each shipment. Motif Express is not liable for any items not included on the packing list.
Packaging Standards: All items must be properly packed and sealed to ensure safe transport. Motif Express reserves the right to refuse packages that are improperly packed or pose a risk to other shipments.
Labeling: The shipper must label each package accurately, including the full address, contact details, and any special handling instructions.
- 02. Restricted and Prohibited Items
Restricted Items: Shippers are responsible for ensuring items comply with the destination country’s laws and regulations. Motif Express prohibits the shipment of hazardous materials, illegal substances, firearms, and other restricted items.
Prohibited Actions: If a shipper intentionally fails to declare restricted or prohibited items, they will be subject to additional charges, potential penalties, and may face legal consequences as per the destination country’s regulations.
- 03. Customs, Duties, and Taxes
Responsibility for Charges: Shippers are responsible for all customs duties, taxes, and import/export fees. Charges may vary depending on the destination country’s regulations.
Customs Documentation: The shipper must provide accurate customs documentation. Motif Express assists in the clearance process but is not responsible for delays due to incomplete or incorrect documentation.
- 04. Volumetric Weight Charges
Calculation of Shipping Costs: Shipping fees are based on the greater of the actual weight or volumetric weight. Motif Express reserves the right to adjust charges if package dimensions differ from the declared measurements.
- 05. Special Document Service
Document Handling: Our special worldwide document service is designed for critical and time-sensitive shipments. Motif Express prioritizes these shipments but is not responsible for delays due to incomplete information or regulatory issues.
- 06. Liability for Declared and Undeclared Items
Undeclared Items: Motif Express is not responsible for items not declared on the packing list. In cases where undeclared items are found, the shipper will be liable for additional fees and legal implications as per the receiving country’s regulations.
Penalties for False Declarations: Any shipper found intentionally misrepresenting the contents of a shipment may be subject to penalties and fines and is responsible for any resulting legal consequences.
- 07. Governing Law
Legal Compliance: These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of the country in which Motif Express operates. Any disputes shall be resolved under this jurisdiction.
